CyberNI Week is a Northern Ireland Cyber Security Centre (NICSC) initiative which BT is delighted to support with a series of events throughout the week to share cyber security best practice, knowledge and our experience.

Given the escalating quantity and complexity of cyber events, it is crucial, now more than ever, to ensure proactive measures are taken to detect issues before they escalate. In the unfortunate event of a cyber incident, it is equally vital to equip oneself for a prompt recovery. In this session, Tom Digan will concentrate on the three fundamental aspects of Cyber Resilience: Information Security, Data Protection, and Cyber Recovery. It will delve into not only best practices, but also valuable insights gleaned from real-world experiences.

Threat Intelligence is the process of collecting, analysing, and disseminating information about current and emerging cyber threats. It helps organizations to understand the risks and respond to the attacks that target their assets, data, and operations. In this presentation, David Keddy will share how Microsoft leverages Threat Intelligence to enhance its security posture and capabilities and how organisations can take advantage of that Threat Intelligence.

Cyber insecurity is not the inevitable consequence of computer networks. We may not be able to eliminate the existence of threat actors and those that seek to cause us harm, but we can aspire to world free from the burden of cyber-attacks. In this session, Martin Lee will discuss: What are the steps required to engineer this, and what can we reasonably expect to achieve? Martin has over 20 years experience in Cyber Security, he is a Chartered Engineer and author of the book, “Cyber Threat Intelligence”.
